The eyes have been called the mirrors to the soul; however, if your eyes have become droopy or baggy, it’s possible that they don’t accurately reflect your true inner feelings. While you may feel young and vigorous, your eyes may be telling others that you are tired and cranky. With our advanced laser eyelid surgery at The Skin Institute, you can redefine the contours of your eyes and relieve bagginess for a more youthful, revitalized appearance.

Technically known as laser-assisted blepharoplasty, and more casually as an eyelid lift, laser eyelid surgery allows us to combat drooping eyelids and eliminate sagging under-eye bags. A laser is used to remove the excess skin of the upper eyelid that causes it to droop. Because the laser beam seals blood vessels as it touches them, there is less bleeding, swelling, and bruising than with traditional blepharoplasty techniques, which helps to reduce healing time. For the lower eyelids, the laser is used inside the lower eyelid transconjunctivally (across the conjunctiva) to make a small, bloodless incision. The fat pads causing the “bags” are removed, and because no skin incision is made, no stitches are required. Recovery time is relatively brief, and the results are generally excellent.

If the appearance of your eyes does not reflect your true inner feelings, you may wish to consider laser eyelid surgery. At our Greenville clinic we use the safest, most advanced techniques and technologies to perform laser-assisted blepharoplasty. Contact us today to schedule an eyelid surgery consultation.
