NECK LIFT
Platysmaplasty
Often referred to as the “weekend necklift,” this surgery consists of using the safest
techniques to remove fat deposits from the neck and jowl areas and repair damaged neck muscles,
removing the appearance of “turkey wattle” caused by aging, weight loss, or genetics.
Depending on the patient’s needs, the neck lift may involve only liposuction or may require
more extensive surgery. With Tumescent Technique liposuction large volumes of saline solution
and local anesthesia are infused into the treatment area, enabling the liposuction cannula to
maneuver under the skin through tiny incisions, gently suctioning away unwanted fatty deposits.
Liposuction alone will not lift sagging jowls or flatten the folds of the neck. To correct
these irregularities, a small incision is made under the chin and the underlying muscle is
tightened with sutures, resulting in a smoother, firmer, more youthful appearance.
The procedure is performed under local anesthesia and has relatively brief recovery time.
Side effects include temporary bruising, swelling, and tightness at surgery site.
EYELID LIFT
Blepharoplasty
The laser-assisted blepharoplasty, or eyelid lift procedure, eliminates fat pads in the upper
and lower eyelids to reduce the appearance of aging, bags, puffiness, and drooping eyelids
resulting in a more youthful, revitalized appearance. A laser incision is made in the crease
of the upper eyelid to remove excess skin and fat. Excess fat in the lower lid is removed
without incision, and laser is performed to tighten the skin of the lower lid. This procedure
is performed under twilight anesthesia, and recovery time is relatively brief. Side effects
are minimal, and include bruising, swelling, and redness at procedure site.
TUMESCENT LIPOSUCTION
Tumescent liposuction is a safe, effective treatment for removing unwanted fat deposits
from the body, and is intended for body contouring, not as a treatment for obesity. This
procedure is performed under local anesthesia. With Tumescent Technique liposuction, large
volumes of saline solution and local anesthetic are infused into the treatment area to cause
swelling, enabling a liposuction cannula to be inserted into small incisions, gently suctioning
unwanted fatty deposits. Most commonly treated areas include abdomen, flanks (“love handles”),
thighs, hips, buttocks, upper arms, and neck. Recovery time is relatively minimal, with some
patients returning to work the next day and resuming all normal activities within a week.
Swelling and bruising are common side effects.
